Winter Produce Guide August 2017

Winter is often thought of as a less “plentiful” time of year for produce, but there is still heaps of selection at the supermarket or greengrocer.

But if winter does get you down, particularly with all those winter bugs and flus floating around, then you don’t have to worry. August is the perfect time for citrus, with lemons, limes, grapefruits, mandarins and oranges growing plentifully, and all of them are packed with cold-fighting Vitamin C.

Citrus also makes a great base for some tasty winter desserts and puddings, like Lemon delicious, lime and ginger creme brulee, or sweet citrus roly poly.
