5 Great Country Pubs

Whether you’re travelling through northern NSW or experiencing country Queensland, no country town (or city) would be complete without a pub.

Pubs are a great place for people to sit down and unwind after a long work-filled day, and they’re always a trademark decision among truckies and tradesmen. So if you ever find yourself in one of the five following locations, we’ve got the pub for you.

1. The Clocktower Hotel – Grafton, NSW

Relatively new, the award winning Clocktower Hotel was founded in 2008 but is run by a family with over 59 years bar experience – the Dougherty family. Complete with a sports bar, restaurant and drinks on tap, the Clocktower Hotel has already become a popular venue for locals and tourists alike. So the next time you find yourself in Grafton, check it out – it’s right in the centre of town.

2. The Gladstone Hotel – Toowoomba, QLD

The Gladstone Hotel offers frequent meal deals for the likes of steak, chicken parmigiana and tacos. It of course serves alcohol, as well. In terms of entertainment, they recently held an air guitar competition. Needless to say, the Gladstone Hotel is an enjoyable experience.

3. Oasis Hotel – Dalby, QLD

Formally known as the Golden Fleece Hotel, it was renamed Oasis Hotel after a fire led to the shutting down and rebuilding of the venue. A classic country pub, it has a bistro and a sports bar where drinks flow.

4. Condamine Hotel – Condamine, QLD

The only pub of note in Condamine, the Condamine Hotel has certainly been through a lot – the Queensland floods of 2011 just being one. Despite this, the hotel has a strong community spirit given Condamine’s small population. Here you’ll get food and drinks and a pleasant country atmosphere.

5. Emerald Hotel – Emerald, QLD

Your classic pub, the Emerald Hotel is all about food, drinks and fun. Loved by the locals and a popular stop off for visitors, you’ll get the classic country pub experience here.

If you happen to run a pub in these areas, keep in mind that Cannon Logistics provides it services to them along with a number of other country city and town centres. We have years of experience of transporting goods for pubs, bars and restaurants.
